How do we measure learning? • Make sense of problems and persevere in solving them. • Reason abstractly and quantitatively. • Construct viable arguments and critique the reasoning of others. • Model with mathematics. • Use appropriate tools strategically. • Attend to precision. • Look for and make use of structure. • Look for and express regularity in repeated reasoning.

Barriers to Student Success • No Hope High School • You don’t understand our kids; you don’t understand where they come from; you don’t know their challenges – they can’t learn; they can’t succeed; they are so busy dealing with today, they can’t focus on the future… • Mediocre High School • We are okay being okay… • World’s Greatest High School • The students, teachers, parents and administrators - everyone may not perform best, but they believe they can become a better version of themselves each day…

Values Based • Do you believe… • We are what we believe – what we believe unifies us. • All kids have futures. • No one gets anywhere without a teacher. • All students are gifted and talented. • Everyday is an opportunity to become the World’s Greatest Me. • Everything we do, we do with PRIDE. • What are one or two values that you already believe? How does that show up in your teaching and at your school? • Which one or two values above do you see poses the biggest challenge for you and your school?
