ORCID AND SCHOLARONE MANUSCRIPTS ORCID development will be divided into two phases: • The first phase will enable journals and publishers to collect ORCIDs and use them to facilitate administrative tasks • The second phase will refine the ORCID integration and offer new features utilizing the ORCID API

  3. ORCID and scholarone: PHASE 1 Account Creation ORCID Collection • Users can enter ORCIDs during account creation, account modification, co-author selection, etc.

  4. ORCID and scholarone: PHASE 1 ORCID Collection • Links to the ORCID site will allow users to search for the ORCID’s of their co-authors Co-author Selection

  6. ORCID and scholarone: PHASE 1 ORCID site configuration ORCID Intake • Configurable ability to: • Collect ORCIDs for users (account creation, reviewer on-the fly, etc.) • Require ORCIDs for users

  7. ORCID and scholarone: PHASE 1 ORCID Export • Email tags to quickly and easily add ORCIDs to correspondence • Ad hoc reporting fields • Inclusion of ORCIDs in XML metadata exports

  8. ORCID and scholarone: PHASE 1 User search results • Link to ORCID profiles from Person Details Popup, Duplicate User Search results, Plagiarism Checking History page Supporting Functionality • Search for users or duplicate user accounts based on ORCID

  9. ORCID and scholarone: PHASE 1 ORCID Profile on orcid.org

  10. ORCID and scholarone: PHASE 2 ORCID API Integration Quickly import information from ORCID to create or update a user account. Allow users to upload account information to ORCID for easy registration Ability for authors to search for co-authors by their ORCIDs and import required data.
