  3. Luke 10 YES, GO and DOthe same

  4. OBJECTIVES • Our COMMITMENTto the young harvest. • Our CALLto the young harvest. • Our CHALLENGE to the young • harvest.

  5. AIM To Evangelize and Inspire Victory in the Young Harvest! To accept anything less would defeat our mission.

  6. In his first speech after becoming the British Prime Minister during World War II, Winston Churchill penned this challenge by answering his own question. He asked “What is our aim”? Then answered, “I answer in one word: Victory--- victory at all costs, victory in spite of all terror, victory, however long and hard the road may be; for without victory, there is no survival.”

  7. Evangelism Leaders • Every leader must be dedicated to victory! • Leaders find a way for the TEAM to • win!

  8. Together Everyone Achieves More

  9. Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it. Proverbs 22:6

  10. I. Introduction Evangelism begins at birth not age of accountability. We must have a strategy we like, support and strengthen it with prayer, have constant follow-up, and trust God for the results.

  11. Ages 5-13 are most likely to receive Christ as Savior. • World Death rate: a. 56.0 million per year b. 153,000 per day c. 6,390 per hour d. 107 per minute e. 1.78 per second f. 193 countries g. Every second a soul goes to Hell for eternity.

  12. There are 95-100 million un-churched people in America. 4. Most Christians are saved when they are young. 5. The current Barna Study indicates that nearly half of all Americans who accept Jesus as their Savior do so before reaching the age of 13 (43%). 6. Two out of three born again Christians (64%) made that commitment to Christ before their 18th birthday.

  13. 7. Interesting perspectives on the Conversion Process. Again Barna underscored some significant insights from this research. He said, “Just as our nation’s culture has changed dramatically in the last 30 years, so has the way in which people come to Christ,” he explained, “The weekend church service is no longer the primary mechanism for salvation decisions; only one out of every ten believers who makes a decision to follow Christ does so in a church setting or service. On the other hand, personal relationships have become even more important in EVANGELISM, with a majority of salvation decisions coming in direct response to an invitation given by a family member or friend.”

  14. A GLANCE AT THE UN-CHURCHED • Some useful Facts from Barna Research Group, Ltd. • www. barna.org • Definition of the Un-churched: A person who has not attended a Christian church in the last six months, other than weddings, baptisms or other special events. • Two-thirds of all Americans believe that the purpose of life is to enjoy blessings and gain the maximum fulfillment from their options and temptations. • If all of the un-churched people in the United States were a nation of their own, they would be the eleventh most popular country on earth. • In mid-2000 about 95 to 100 million Americans of all ages were un-churched.

  15. Encountering hypocritical Christians is what the un-churched like least about their past experiences at church. They also do not like the strict or inflexible belief system. • The un-churched say the main reason they do not attend church is because they do not have the time. • Most people who accept Christ as Savior do so between the ages of 5 and 13. • Most of the un-churched (91 percent) describe themselves as self-sufficient and say they like to try new experiences (81 percent). • More un-churched (65 percent) are satisfied with their marriages than Christians (59 percent) are satisfied with theirs. • Three-fourths of the un-churched believe that God helps those who help themselves, even those this principle came from Ben Franklin and is not biblical.

  16. Only 45 percent of the un-churched say they are searching for meaning in life. • The un-churched prefer to be called inquirers or explorers. They do not want to be called lost. • How much the people in a church seem to care about each other is the most important factor for the un-churched when selecting a church. • Un-churched people are more likely to respond to a personal invitation than they are to surrender to pressure to belong to a group.

  17. II. Our COMMITMENTto the young harvest 1. Luke 10:1-3 • Jesus went beyond the twelve Disciples • and implemented 72 TEAM Evangelism Leaders to go ahead of Him in other communities. • They knew Christ’s power and had a vision to reach all the people.

  18. Due to the plentiful harvest, • our work will never bring us • unemployment. • Teams were established to pray together and mobilize others to pray. • Jesus said, “GO! I am sending you • out like lambs among wolves.” This difficult and perilous mission requires sincere Commitment.

  19. 2. Luke 10:7-12 • Be committed to where you are • and focus on your appointed task. b. Pastors should take care of Leaders.

  20. Jesus gave two principals for their • evangelism endeavor. • Not to complain or be picky about what was given them. • To heal the sick by which would • bring attention to hear the Gospel.

  21. 3. Luke 10:17-24 a. Their TEAM effort was successful. • Their most important accomplishment was that their names were written in heaven. • Let us join Christ and give God • praise that we have equal access to Him.

  22. Trust in God’s grace and • mercy, not in our abilities • Christ’s task was to reveal God the Father to people.

  23. III. Our CALL to the young harvest 1. Has God called youto lead people? • Personal testimony • (affirming His call). • Personal testimony (accepting His call).

  24. 2. My turning point to the message 3. My turning point to be a messenger 4. Children Pastor’s call and strategy 5. Youth Pastor’s call and strategy 6. A glance at the un-churched

  25. IV. Our CHALLENGE to the young harvest 1. Luke 10:25-37 • Good Samaritan Parable is literally • Evangelism 101 • It not only answers the question on eternal life, but gives the salvation story from beginning to end – starting with Adam and ending with the second coming of Christ.

  26. c. Epitome of church message • The Parable of the Good Samaritan decoded Bryan Cutshall

  27. And behold, a religious man stood up and asked him saying, “Teacher, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?” He said to him, “What is written in the Bible, and how well do you understand it?” He answered and said, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart with your soul, with all your strength, and with all your mind,’ and ‘your neighbor as yourself.’” And He said to him, “You have answered rightly; do this and you will live.”

  28. But he, wanting to justify himself, said to Jesus, “And who is my neighbor?” Jesus answered and said: “Adam went down from the Paradise of God to Satan’s domain. There Satan stripped him of his clothing, caused him to sin, and departed, leaving Adam spiritually dead and separated from God. Moses came down that road. And when he saw him, he passed by on the other side because the Law revealed sin but could not remove it.

  29. Likewise, Aaron, of the Levitical priesthood, when he arrived at the place, came and looked, and passed by on the other side because the animal sacrifices could not permanently remove sin and restore Adam’s race back to God. THEN JESUS CAME! He came where he was, because sinful man could not come to Him. And when He saw him, He had compassion. So He went to him and bandaged his spiritual wounds, and poured in the Holy Spirit and His own blood to heal and revive his dead spirit.

  30. He placed man’s sins on the cross and established the church to take care of him. On the next day when He departed, he paid the ministers for 2000 years of labor. He commissioned the ministers by saying, ‘Take care of him; and whatever more you spend, when I come again, I will repay you.’ So your neighbor is any sinner who is in need of salvation. GO NOW AND SAVE THEM!”

  31. e. Our call to ANGUISH for our communities

  32. 2. Luke 10:2 Therefore said he unto them, “The harvest truly is great, but the laborers are few: Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he would send forth laborers into his harvest.
