The Functions • The cell wall protects the cell and its organelles • It gives the cell a defined shape • It keeps the innards of the cell inside the cell • The cell wall keeps a tightly bound plant structure • The cell wall is like the brick wall outside the factory, it keeps the workers in and protects he factory

  3. Location • The cell wall is located outside of the cell • The cell wall has a primary layer, a gluecy pectin layer, and a secondary layer • The cell wall is exterior structure that surrounds the plasma membrane.

  4. Description • The cell is a thick layer of fibers that surrounds the outside of the membrane • Only plant cells have cell membranes • Cell walls are located around plant cell, fungi cells, an some prokaryotes
