  1. Why our science took 200 years to reach to present understanding?

  2. If what we are doing is the right [Homoeopathy] then what is it that holds others (schools of thoughts) from not believing us!

  3. To me, Ignorance is the root of all misbelieves and confusions.

  4. PARADIGM AND PARADIGM SHIFT

  5. The word, ‘Paradigm’ refers to the commonly accepted theories, values and scientific practice that constitute, ‘Normal science’ within any particular discipline. It is a set of assumption within which a particular science operates.

  6. Paradigm shift from superficial understanding to the deeper understanding.

  7. Quantum theories, Newtonian mechanism, Chaos theories, Hahnemanian theories, Kentian theories, Jungian theories, Freudian theories all are the examples of Paradigms.

  8. But this paradigm changes what we call it, ‘Paradigm shift’.

  9. Let me explain you this,

  10. Change from one way of thinking to another. It's a revolution, a transformation, a sort of metamorphosis from superficial understanding to the deeper understanding of everything.

  11. Plato • Nearly for two thousand years Plato’s theories governed the way people thought about the motions of heavenly bodies.

  12. NEWTON • Three dimensional space, it was absolute space, always at rest and unchangeable. • All the changes in physical world were described in the terms of a separate dimension, called time, which again was absolute, having no connection with material world and flowing smoothly from past through present to future.

  13. The Element of the Newtonian world which were Material particles. (Sub-atomic Particles) • Newton saw them as small solid, and indestructible objects out of which all matters were made. • They also moved in the absolute space and absolute time.

  14. All the physical events are reduced, in Newtonian mechanics, to the motion of material point in space, caused by their mutual attraction, i.e. by the force of gravity.

  15. Einstein • Theory of relativity. • Space is not three-dimensional and time is not a separate entity. • Both are intimately connected and form a four dimensional continuum, “space time”. • Different observers will order events differently in time if they move different velocities relative to the observed events.

  16. QUANTUM THEORY • The subatomic units of the matter are very abstract entities which have the dual aspect. Depending on how we look at them, they appear sometimes particles, sometimes as waves. • The energy of heat radiation is not emitted continuously, but appears in the form of energy packets. Einstein called these energy packets ‘quanta’ and recognized them as fundamental aspect of the nature.

  17. At the subatomic level, matter doesn't exist with certainly at definite places, rather shows ‘tendencies to exist’ and the atomic events do not occur with certainly at definite times and in definite ways, but rather shows ‘tendencies to occur’.

  18. STRING THEORY • Each elementary particle is composed of a single string- that is, particle is a single string-and all string are absolutely identical. Differences between the particles arise because their respective strings undergo different resonant vibrational patterns.

  19. What appears to be string particles but are actually tiny pieces of vibrating strings. • The energy and the mass are two sides of the same coin: greater energy means greater mass and vice versa. Thus according to string theory, the mass of an elementary particles is determined by energy of the vibration pattern of its internal string.

  20. We can clearly see that ‘Paradigm shift’ in physics which moved from superficial understanding to the deeper understanding of the macroscopic, microscopic and the Elecro-microscopic understanding of everything existing on the universe.

  21. Similar changes during the same time happened in Biology, Chemistry, Geology, Psychology, religion and medical science which includes homoeopathy that can be seen.

  22. Spiritual paradigm • Many gods: • Greek mythology, Apollo rides across the sky carrying the sun in a chariot drawn by four flying horses. • Hercules held the world aloft. • Cupid made people fall in love. • India there are many gods for different things.

  23. One God • Around 600B.C., Zarathustra began preaching that there was one true god-Ahura Mazda. • Then came Judaism, Christianity and Islam.

  24. No God • Mahavira proclaimed himself Jina, “the conqueror. (Six century B.C.) • Gautam Buddha-the awaken ones. • During same period: • Two religions arose in china by Lao-tzu and Confucius, both taught that people could discover truth and find inner peace without believing in any deity.

  25. All is god • It started with Sufi mystics • God is essential is all things…the existence of all created things is his existence. Thou dost not see, in this world or the next, anything besides god. (Ibn-al-arabi) • God sleeps in rock, dreams in plant, stirs in animals, and awakens in man. (Sufi teaching)

  26. Homoeopathic Paradigm

  27. To begin with we had Hahnemannian understanding of Homoeopathy, then came Kentian era, then Vitholkas and now Dr. Sankaran’s System of homoeopathy and so on and so forth…

  28. This ‘Paradigm shift’ happens in all phenomena, all things existing on universe like Physics, Biology, Zoology, Psychology, Homoeopathy etc. simultaneously.

  29. Let us understand with the examples, • In seventeen century Homoeopathy was mostly practiced on cause and effect, it was the same era where modern medicine was working with the idea that every illness has a cause and every cause causes an illness. • During same period Newton gave the law of cause and effect.

  30. This reminds a quote from Buddha, ‘All the description of reality are temporary hypothesis.’

  31. This transition from one paradigm to next is not smooth. The pressure for change builds over a period of time, but the shift itself is abrupt.

  32. The process begins when the existing paradigm encounters an anomaly-an observation that can’t be explained by current view of that science.

  33. But since assumptions of the truth about the science are so deeply ingrained, that the anomaly is initially overlooked or rejected as an error or if it can’t be so easily discarded, attempts are made to incorporate the anomaly within the existing paradigm.

  34. The paradigm starts to shift when some brave soul challenges the assumption behind the existing world view and proposes a new model of reality. Often, however, the new theories (Hypothesis) is initially rejected or even ridiculed, by the establishment.

  35. Quote from Arthur Schopenhauer, • “Every truth passes through three stages before it is recognized. • In the first, it is ridiculed. • In the second, it is opposed. • In the third, it is regarded as self evident”.

  36. Dr. Hahnemann faced a problem, gave Homoeopathy. • Dr. Kent faced a problem, gave classification of mind and body. • Dr. Rajan faced a problem, gave theory of delusion and new miasms. Again he faced a problem and gave sensation and the levels of experiences.

  37. Conclusion • Faster the ‘paradigm shifts’ faster we will reach to the ultimate truth, that truth on which so called truth are based, faster will be the unity in everything.

  38. We are living in that era, where paradigm shifts is happening very fast, everything is getting united.

  39. I feel that we are now in the process of constructing a much deeper understanding than anything we have had before and that to in this century, when i am too old to have any useful thoughts on the subjects, younger homoeopaths will have to decide whether we have in fact found the final theory.
