Educational Guidelines, cont. • Draft guidelines reviewed by transplant organizations OPTN Committees: Kidney, Patient Affairs, Living Donor, Transplant Administrators Professional transplant partner organizations: AST, NKF/KDOQUI, STSW Joint MAC/Organizational Representatives: MOTTEP, ASTS, ASN, AMAT

  4. Educational Guidelines, cont. • NATCO to help with dissemination • Draft document approved by full committee for final review phase • Path Forward: review by CMS, ANNA, APPA, UNOS leadership, and then HRSA

  5. Other Committee Projects • A2/A2B National Variance • Dialysis Facility Survey • Kidney and Liver Referral Survey • MAC Comprehensive Review Article

  6. New Committee Projects • Minority Donor Conversion Education Project • Collection and review of conversion data • Demographic differences • Examination of all variables impacting conversion • Partnering with other groups

  7. New Committee Projects, cont. • Survey on Referral to Thoracic Transplantation • Asking questions on: • Delays for heart transplant candidates? • Are all eligible heart candidates being referred? • What is the population of candidates with heart failure (N)?

  8. Ongoing Data Reviews • KPSAM simulation modeling presentation • Kidney allocation system • Evaluation for impact on selected populations • Continued evaluation of CPRA • Review of data prepared for Histocompatibility Committee • Impact of CPRA on kidney allocation
