  1. Cosmetology Hair Fusion Techniques

  2. Hair Fusion • Straight hair requires more product • Wavy hair requires average amount • Curly hair requires less product • Select according to client’s desired style Cosmetology I: Hair Fusion

  3. Shading • You may purchase any shade & mix • You may purchase pre-mixed shades • You may use a few or many shades • Several shades are needed to achieve a natural look. Cosmetology I: Hair Fusion

  4. Fusion Equipment • Fusion gun • Thermal placement disk • Powder • Assorted adhesive shades Cosmetology I: Hair Fusion

  5. Section & Sub-sections • Section the hair into ¼” sections • Sub-section into ¼” sections • Sub-sections must be no larger than ¼” square Cosmetology I: Hair Fusion

  6. Prepare Hair • Blend shades to be used • Grasp firmly in one hand • Cut ends bluntly Cosmetology I: Hair Fusion

  7. Protection • Apply thermal placement disk to sub-section • Make sure all hair to be used is within the protective circle • DO NOT apply extension without the thermal placement disk in place Cosmetology I: Hair Fusion

  8. Adhesive • Place nozzle of gun into blunt ends • Push gently to dispense adhesive into hair • You should have a small ball of adhesive in the blunt ends Cosmetology I: Hair Fusion

  9. Add extension to hair • Place extension underneath natural hair • Pull natural hair down to meet the extension • The natural hair should stick to the ball of adhesive in the blunt ends Cosmetology I: Hair Fusion

  10. Blending • Use thumb and forefinger to roll hair • Continue to roll back and forth • A small cylinder will be formed • Use talc to prevent sticking • Adhesive will be warm Cosmetology I: Hair Fusion

  11. Completed Extension • Use gun to heat adhesive • Adhesive should bubble • Blend hair around gun • Pinch together gently Cosmetology I: Hair Fusion
