  3. Homework: • Students should have a quiet place to work through homework. • Approximately 50 minutes each night as well as nightly reading • Math and spelling are routinely homework, but there will often be other unfinished work goes home (We try to limit the amount of homework. If you’re noticing too much homework it might be a time management issue. ) • Extra-curricular – it is important to be in-tune with your child and balance their structured time with unstructured time. Band is new this year , and prioritizing is key, as well as commitment to chosen activities • Please contact us if you are finding too much or too little homework. • Missing homework will be written in the agenda

Ipads • Important to have discussion about your expectations • School has responsible user agreement • Using ipad as a tool for research, creating, collaborating, and connecting. • Introducing google drive to students • Bedrooms as tech free zone for sleeping • Keep an eye out and remain vigilant with rules to ensure a proactive, rather than a reactive approach

  5. Parent Involvement: • Reflection Articles: Please write 1 or 2 sentences on your thoughts about the topic. • Various projects where parents will be interviewed (religion and immigration) • We ask for parent speakers in each Unit of Inquiry- please sign up
