  1. Meet the Teacher Night St. Paul Catholic School 2019-2020

  2. At St. Paul Catholic School, we strive for excellence in faith and academics. Our mission is to be a loving and forgiving community that receives our Lord, Jesus Christ, and reflects His teachings. God is our focus and heaven our goal.

  5. Thank you for all of your support! • Our chrome books are here! • We have usage agreements for all parents and teachers to sign. Please be sure to pick one up from your child’s teacher if your child is in grades 3-8. • Teachers attended an all day training and are excited to begin using this tool to help them better meet your child’s needs. • Students will be assigned an “email account” as their log in. However, this IS NOT an activated email account. Your child can only access the google chrome features, and can’t send or receive email through this account! • Thank you so much for your support!!

Things to remember • Start 8:25, tardy 8:35, dismiss 3:40 • Please register for Before/after school care – registration fee not assessed until first use • Pick up - K, 1, 2 ask that parents walk across the street to pick up. Please do not block street to have your child get in your vehicle. • Absent reporting - Please call the office by 9:00 AM to report if your child is absent. The office will notify your child’s teacher. • Students will have 2 days for every day absent to complete work missed. Work not turned in within 2 weeks of absence will be assessed a 0 without the possibility of changing. • Middle school students who accrue 3 missing assignments will serve a mandatory after school detention the next day and each successive day until missing work completed. • Teachers more than happy to help. Please email or call after 8:00 AM or before 5:30 PM to respect time with families. Thank you for understanding and patience.

  7. Class Tag! Our school is moving to the Class Tag app in an effort to streamline communication. All teachers and the office will be using Class Tag to send out communications. Please go to: www.classtag.com to get started! You can choose to have communications sent to your email, to your phone, or both. Choose whatever works best for you! Please be sure to do this soon so you don’t miss important information from your child’s teacher or from the office! Thank you!

  8. kNOw program – Diocesan safe environment initiative • Replaces “Safe Sheep” • Parents required to accompany child. • Fall K-5 students: November 13 6:00 PM • Spring Middle school students

  9. VIRTUS • You must be VIRTUS trained to volunteer for a field trip, work in the classroom, etc. • Pre-Registration Instructions for Protecting God's Children for Adults session • 1. Go to www.virtus.org • 2. Click on "Registration" which appears below the User ID and Password • 3. Click on "Begin the registration process." • 4. Scroll down at blue arrow and click on "Lansing, Ml (Diocese) • 5. Click on "Select" • 6. Create a User ID and a Password and click on Continue • 7. Complete the information on the next screen. * indicates a required field • 8. Select Primary location from the drop-down list (view list by clicking on blue arrow) • 9. Click on continue • 10. If you work or volunteer at another location, click on "yes" and select location at next screen. If this does not apply, click on "no" • 11. Check your role and complete "Title or Diocesan function" and click "Continue" • 12. Check all that apply and click "Continue" If nothing applies, proceed to • "Continue" and click • 13. Answer the questions at the next screen and click "Continue" • 14. Read the Code of Conduct for Clergy, Employees, and Volunteers and click on "Yes, I understand" • 15. Next screen asks: "Have you already attended a Protecting God’s Children Session?" Click on "No" • 16. Select the session you plan to attend from the drop-down list. This completes the registration process

VIRTUS Continued • All parents, grandparents, etc. who will be working with our students in any capacity, whether driving for a field trip, helping at a classroom party, or in any other way, are required by the diocese to complete these forms: Diocese of Lansing Employee and Volunteer Criminal Background Check Disclosure and Authorization Form Catholic Diocese of Lansing Code of Conduct for Clergy (including Bishops), Employees and Volunteers • Both of these are available in the office, in addition to being provided to each family. Please return these asap. Thank you!
