  2. Background: • Previous visioning session in May 2007 • Strategies included: • 2 major events per year ($40k for Brewers Bazaar!) with full participation • Quarterly social events • 95 STRIVE kids in 5 years • Aggressive International goals 1

  3. 2011 Visioning Process: • District resources Dave Schafer, Clare Lillis, Bill Brueck and John Dier helped 20 members brainstorm on ten focus areas • Ideas were not discussed in detail • Voted for our top 3 choice in each area • Voted again for top of the top • Present to club today 1

  4. Focus Areas: • Community service • International service • Foundation success • Public relations • Vision • Club size • Attributes • Club services • Fundraisers • Vocational service 1

Vision: The Stillwater Sunrise Rotary Club is the premier service organization for those persons in the Stillwater area who wish to make an impact on the needs of the community, local or international, by exemplifying “Service Above Self” in an atmosphere of fun, friendship and satisfaction. 1

"The mission of the Stillwater Sunrise Rotary Club is to set the standard for service in the St. Croix Valley through leadership and personal commitment.  While maintaining strong fellowship, we focus on addressing real community concerns and ensure that projects we undertake have relevance to and impact on our community. We act in unison among friends and with common goals: to improve the quality of life for all. We are also committed to supporting the programs of Rotary International and the Rotary Foundation to achieve world understanding and peace through international humanitarian, educational, and cultural exchange programs." 1

  7. Membership Goal:65 members in five years • Ranged from 50 - 75 • Valued ability to know other members • Raise involvement of current members 1

  8. Attributes: • Rich blend of rising, current and former community leaders • Increase the diversity of vocations • Increase the diversity of age, gender and race of the members 1

  9. Club Service: • Continue to bring varied, relevant and informative programs • Encourage “attachment” through early involvement of new members 1

  10. Club Fundraising: • New signature event to replace the Moonlight Golf Event with earning potential to net $20,000 1

  11. Vocational Service: • Coordinate an Interact club co-sponsored with three area clubs • Expand Strive-like program to middle school age students • Increase the number of vocational visits by club members 1

  12. Community Service: • Involve youth in our community projects • Regular, visible, local projects • Continue to raise awareness of Brewer’s Bazaar 1

  13. International Service: • Expand Youth Exchange Program for both inbound and outbound students • A member leads an international project each year • Stillwater Sunrise continues to lead the district in Fast For Hope contributions 1

  14. Foundation Success: • Members understand the importance and are willing to give to the Foundation • 50-75% are Paul Harris Fellows • 100%- E.R.E.Y 1

  15. Public Relations: • Recognize publicly each service project • And…. 1

  17. Next Steps: • Seeking feedback today from members not able to attend the session • Compile results for Board to review • Subcommittees will work strategies in club assemblies 1
