  4. La BolsaMysetriosa Everybody takes one thing from La BolsaMysteriosa. Then I’m going to ask each person about the thing they took Whatisit(¿Que es ese?) What color is it? (¿De qué color es?) Doesit taste good (¿Es delicioso?) *For your help, I will provide you with a handout with some translations

Es gris/ Los calzoncillos gris (Grey) Doesit taste good (¿Es delicioso?) NO es delicioso. Yo no como los Calzoncillos.It’snotdelicious. I do noteatunderwear.

  8. Taíno (Native Americans) • The history and development of Puerto Rican cuisine began with the Taínos • Taínowere mostly farmers and Fishermen • Popular Taíno food includes: • Cassava / Yucca • Peppers • Maize / Corn • Papaya • Beans

  9. Spanish Influence • The Spaniards brought many new ingredients like spices, vegetables and animals • Popular Spanish foods includes: • Cilantro • Rice • Chick Peas • Onions • Garlic • Animals like chicken, beef and pork

  10. African Influence • Finally Africans contributed many new flavors that make Puerto Rican food famous • Popular Africans foods and flavors includes: • Coconuts • Bananas / Plaintains • Pidgeon Peas • Coffee • Okra • Yams

  11. Cultural Influences • The combination of the three cultures make the food very delicious • Also the combination makes the people very beautiful Me My Mother My sister My Grandpa
