  2. Brainstorming activity • Complete the Brainstorming Sheet. • How can you incorporate this into your chapter planning? • When you are finished. Turn your paper over. From your list come up with one activity that would fit into the following categories: • National Programs • STAR Events • Fundraising • Service

  3. Team Up! • Find those that have the same color paper as you!! • Now complete the “Planning Tree” based off each of your top activities you picked for your categories. • Come up with one big event you could do as an FCCLA chapter to incorporate as many categories into one main event.

  4. Planning Tree Rules 1. Think Positively! 2. Write down every idea that comes to mind 3. Write down as many ideas as possible 4. Combine your ideas and refine them 5. Keep negativity out • The Pruning Process: Eliminate ideas you know will not work.

  6. FCCLA PLANNING PROCESS AS A TEACHER IDENTIFY CONCERNS What classes do I teach? What specific objectives do I find students needing the most instruction on? What major projects are already in my curriculum or do I plan to implement this year? What FCCLA program would give life application to this topic? What are the goals and units of this program?

  7. SET A GOAL Specific Measurable Achievable Realistic Timely

  8. FORM A PLAN Who: What: Where: When: How: Why: Resources: Budget: Additional Details:

  9. ACT What are you going to do to achieve your goal based on your plan? Explain fully.

  10. FOLLOW UP What are the immediate effects of this project? What are potential long-term effects of this project? What necessary changes do you see to this project in the form of additions, subtractions, and substitutions? What obstacles arose in the planning and implantation of this project and how can you prepare the next time to overcome these obstacles?
