  2. Beginning • Cuba was controlled by a man called betista and he was the ruler of cuba • Some people like Fidel Castro (at the time)wanted to overthrow him and take control

  3. Taking over • Fidel gained the trust of the USA and got there help • Under one condition that he spread democracy

  4. What happened • Fidel took over • But instead of promoting democracy he started a democracy • It went down hill from there

  5. Down hill fast • Cuba's economy was slowly corrupting under castors control • There were several attempts to overthrow castro and become a democratic country • All attempts failed • This led to the embargo set on Cuba by the American government

  6. Cuban missile crisis • Cuba was storing soviet missiles in secret bases just in the reach of the florida keys • Close enough to bomb it • The reason this happened was because we had stoed nukes in turkey vey close to the USSR

  7. WHAT HAPPENDED • We believe that Fidel Castro is still alive but we believe he is in severe conditions he gave control to his brother raul Castro
