About the Teacher • Sun Valley Alum • Elizabethtown College Alum • B.S. in Chemistry • Worked as a Process Development Chemist for Lonza Inc. in Conshohocken for 1 ½ years • Widener University Alum • M.Ed. Secondary Education • Sun Valley Chemistry Teacher • 2003-present
About the course • Class time consists of lecture and guided examples by the teacher • Powerpoint presentations will be made available to the students • Labs are College Board approved and often take 2 lab days to complete in class as well as time completing calculations and answering questions at home • Labs will also involve using the VerneirLabQuests with probeware along with the Logger Pro data analysis programs
About the course • Everything covered may be tested on the AP Exam • Test date is May 11, 2010, 8am • All students must take the exam or they will receive Honors Chemistry II credit on their transcript instead of AP Chemistry credit • Students should expect to dedicate a minimum of 1 hour daily on studying, practice and or assignments in order to achieve success on the exam • Students control their success on the test!!!

Grading • Tests and Quizzes • 50% of total course grade • If absent on a test day, student will be responsible for taking the test the day they return to school • Labwork • 25% of total course grade • Homework • 25% of total course grade • Late homework will be accepted for less points when previous arrangements are not made with the teacher • Late homework will not be accepted once the chapter test is administered for that assignment
