Trinity College Universal Design Solutions for Accessible Buildings

Trinity College has implemented various permanent and temporary solutions to improve accessibility in both historic and new buildings. These include the installation of access ramps, automated entrances, toilet improvements, and the retrofitting of sounder/beacons. The college has also completed cobble reduction works and implemented universal design features for mobility, hearing, and vision impairments.

Trinity College Universal Design IssuesCurrent Programs/Projects - Trinity Hall Residences Each of the three new buildings is fully accessible All apartments are'visitable‘ • 45 of 938 bed spaces are enabled bed spaces with specially designed toilet/showerfacilities with 'nurse call' system centrally monitored and enabled kitchenfacilities. • Each apartment has an 1800 turning circle for wheelchair access. • All switches, door furniture etc are universally accessible-visibility socket switches fitted • Specifically designated parking bays • Provision of facilities for both the visually impaired and deaf occupants.
