  3. The Solution: Leafy Compass • Leafy Compass is a smartphone app that allows you to easily find local fruits and vegetables • It makes it easier for consumers to discover local food • It gives food producers a platform to reach out to a greater audience

The Competition • Location based services was a 2.8 billion dollar market in 2010 • Massive growth is expected over the next 5 years • Leafy Compass is more convenient than traditional local food sites like localharvest.org because it focuses on products instead of organizations • Leafy Compass is more streamlined and focused than Gollawa and Foursquare • Leafy Compass is comparable to Foodspotting except it focuses on produce instead of restaurant dishes

How Leafy Compass Works • You can search for specific fruits and vegetables and see the location, description, and price of nearby results • You can input your shopping list and the app will automatically notify you when it finds matches close by • You can publish information of local produce your found for others to find with the app
