  2. "La mia vita è un sol attimo, un'ora di passaggio. La mia vita è solo un giorno che svanisce e fugge. O mio Dio, tu sai che per amarti sulla terra non ho che l'oggi!

  3. Oh, t'amo, Gesù! L'anima mia a te anela. Resta per un sol giorno il dolce mio sostegno. Vieni a regnare nel mio cuore, dammi il tuo sorriso, solo per oggi.

  4. Che m'importa, Signore, se oscuro è l'avvenire? Io pregarti per il domani, oh, no, non posso! Puro conserva il cuor mio, con la tua ombra coprimi, solo per oggi.

  5. Se penso a domani, io la mia incostanza temo, e in cuore tristezza e affanno nascere mi sento. Ma la prova e la sofferenza voglio, Dio mio, solo per oggi."
