  4. New Tools -- New Computers • New Teacher Station for Each Classroom • Windows XP Pro, Pentium 4, CD-RW/DVD, USB 2.0, Firewire • Doesn't matter where you sit, all files available • Cross-platform approach wherever possible

New Tools -- New Computers • Network-based Logins (Keys to Kingdom) • One userid, one password for all services: • File service (PrivateHome Plus SeparateSharing) • Email service • Keychain access • PowerSchool • Passwords are important! Security is crucial. • No Yellow Stickies On Monitor! • No Notes Under the Keyboard! • Keep Ferris Beuller Off Your PC! • Don't Share Even with Colleagues • Every student will have their own account, too

New Tools -- USB Keychains • Holds 256MB (as much as 183 floppy disks)!!! • Hot Pluggable (dismount before ejecting, that's all) • Works on Windows and Macs for all interoperable files • Primary justification PowerGrade • PowerGrade, Making the Grade, and Bubbler will be pre-loaded • Will be issued when you complete PowerGrade training • Let's you do grading at home, and carry documents back and forth to home (including PowerGrade software) • Keep it secure with built-in password (keys to kingdom)

Previews of Coming Attractions • New Internet Service Provider • Faster Local Area Network • Web-based "palihigh.com" email service, available from anywhere (ready now but awaiting IP address) • All campus computers "join the new network" (students must authenticate to use computers and all work saved on servers) • PowerSchool Attendance and then PowerGrade • Technology Plan based on Teacher Needs combined with Best Practices
