Thanks for your cooperation.” Willingness to accept responsibility for one’s actions “I know I was wrong and I’m sorry.” Avoiding intimidation and respecting physical space in a nonviolent way“I will not hurt you because I value your safety.” Accepting each other’s word and giving the benefit of the doubt“I trust that you will remain faithful when you’re away.” Open and Truthful Communication “To be honest, what you did really hurt me.” Accountability Safety

  4. All Roads Lead to Respect Respect is a “two-way” street. Both partners must give it to each other in order to maintain a healthy relationship. Tips for Healthy Relationships • Communicate • Speak up, Respect your partner, compromise, be supportive, respect each other’s privacy • Set Healthy Boundaries • Go out with friends without your partner, participate in activities you like, respect each other’s individual likes and needs • Boost Healthy Relationships • Find an activity you both enjoy, talk about the reasons why you want to be in the relationship • Be Yourself! 

  6. Is your relationship Healthy? There are a few cues that should alarm you when a relationship is unhealthy. Ask yourself the following questions. Does my boyfriend/girlfriend: • Say I’m too involved in different activities? • Get extremely jealous or possessive? • Try to control what I wear or how I look? • Threaten to hurt me, my friends, or family? • Try to keep me from talking to my friends and family • Grab, push, or hold me down? • Call me names or criticize me? • Make me feel nervous like I’m “walking on eggshells”? If you answered Yesto any of these questions, you are seeing warning signs of an unhealthy relationship.
