  6. Plural Nouns: • A singular noun names one person, place, thing, or idea. • A plural noun names more than one person, place, thing, or idea. Boy Boys

  7. Nouns ending in s, x, ch, and sh and how to make them plural. Add –es to them. For example: bus=buses = buzz=buzzes box=boxes = =

  8. Two vowels at the end: • Add -s • Examples: • rodeo=rodeos • studio=studios • radio=radios

  9. One vowel at the end: Usually add -es Examples: hero=heroes potato=potatoes Echo=echoes

  10. Ends with a vowel and Y: • Add -s • day=days • turkey=turkeys • toy=toys

  11. Ends with a consonant then Y: • Usually change y to i and add –es. • city=cities • diary=diaries • penny=pennies

  12. f or fe: • Usually change f to v and add -s or –es • Examples: wife=wives leaf=leaves half=halves • Sometimes –s roof=roofs chief=chiefs belief=beliefs
