In South East Asia, it’s all about Tuna • Usage in 2007 in Thailand, at the start of the Sustainability journey • Tuna : 22,000 T • Sardines/Maquerels : 3,000 T
Global Mars Seafood Sourcing 2020 Targets • We have shifted 100% to sustainable wild catch and sustainable aquaculture sources. • The seafood products we source have no impact on the availability of food for human consumption in the region in which they are sourced. • We have replaced all wild catch whole fish & fish fillet by sustainable fish by-products and sustainable aquaculture. • We use sustainable alternatives to marine fish ingredients.
Increase our Tuna red meat inclusion in our finished products • Up to 30% in main products • such as Whiskas® and Kalkan® What we have done • Move to 100% healthy or healthier Tuna species Bonito Skipjack Yellow Fin Tongol
What’s Next ? • We have reduced our Tuna usage (whole fish equivalent) by 30% since 2007 • We have utilized our sustainability options to the limit of consumer expectations (Palatability, Appearance, Overall perception) • To achieve our 2020 commitment, we need Breakthrough solutions to drive our Fish sustainability agenda forward.

Our REQUEST • We wish to develop a stronger collaboration with Governments and NGOs to : • Connect us to the experts and stakeholders to help us have an objective approach of sustainability, take the right directions and do the right things • Provide sufficient information to understand real sustainability • Build strategies and action plans to educate consumers
