Wrenbury Tennis Club AGM 2012-13 • A Team Report – Bill May In terms of the first team, before Christmas we competed well in Div 1 of the Winter League and were competing to finish in second place behind a very strong  Alsager side (who beat our first choice four 7.5 to 0.5!) but due to having to concede a game late on around Christmas eventually finished in fourth place. After Christmas the Spring League is always more difficult in terms of getting the best players out, but having completed all of the matches this weekend,  it looks like we will finish fifth (out of seven). This will ensure we stay up however, which in itself is an achievement! • Player availability remains the biggest issue for the firsts and we probably haven’t got a big enough pool yet of players of the quality required to compete and finish higher than we have done this year. We have managed better this year in terms of getting teams out and getting through the fixtures, just a frustration when we don’t beat teams that I feel we could ! (the eternal frustration with all sports probably).
