VTS Cryostat Procurement • Currently in Procurement Department • Ron Evans, buyer • Send out to vendors by end of week • Ability Engineering (South Holland, IL), • American Magnetics (Oak Ridge, TN), • Cryofab (Kenilworth, NJ) • Cryogenic Plants and Services (Linde), (Tulsa, OK) • CVPI (Emmaus, PA) • Meyer Tool (Oak Lawn, IL) • PHPK (Columbus, OH), • xyz company (WI) • 3 weeks for vendors to respond • 1 week for bid evaluation • Award contract September • Funds already allocated, so $$ “spent” in FY06 C.M.Ginsburg ILC/SRF R&D mtg

  3. Assorted VTS News Items • Aseet Mukherjee is designing a thermometry system for 9-cell cavities • R&D underway; plan cryo test of cheaper thermometers in ICB (help from E. Barzi) • Andrei Lunin made preliminary RF design for a VTS input coupler • Will prepare some plots showing operational range in terms of measurement quantities, then mechanical design • Fixed input coupler for VTS commissioning, then variable coupler (2nd top plate) for future flexibility • Valeri Poloubotko to design the radiation shielding lid mechanical design and motion control system • Final design requires one more iteration with Igor Rakhno to include final civil construction detail drawings C.M.Ginsburg ILC/SRF R&D mtg
