This press release discusses the contrasting charitable practices of Shaw’s and Hannaford towards Mid Coast Hunger Prevention Program (MCHPP). While Shaw's donates its surplus food to the Good Shepherd Food Bank, Hannaford directly contributes unused food to MCHPP, which is located within close proximity. MCHPP serves the communities of Brunswick, Topsham, and Bath, running a soup kitchen and food pantry to assist residents in need. Local groups such as BHS's musical honors society and the Brunswick Drama Club have also supported MCHPP with donations, showcasing community engagement.
