Update on Experimental Protocol and Timeline for Modeling and Data Quality Control
The data quality control process has led to a one-year delay in the project, with initial community participation being low. However, interest has recently increased, with several research groups submitting results for Step 1 and initiating further work. A new timeline has been proposed and submitted for approval at the GLASS meeting in Japan. If no additional participation occurs, the project will progress with the nine existing models. Key milestones for the upcoming phases have been outlined from February 2004 through early 2006.

Presentation Transcript
Big Delay ! • There is a big delay – 1 year • Cause: • Additional quality control of data was required • Very little participation from the community • Lately things have warmed up (last 2 months) • Several groups have submitted results of step 1 • Several groups have contacted us indicating they are currently working on the experiment • A new timeline has been proposed • Submitted for approval to the GLASS meeting in Japan • If no additional participation will go ahead with the 9 models already working.
Submitted so far – STEP 1 only • SPONSOR – Institute of Geography, Russian Academy • SWAP – Institute of Water Problems, Russian Academy • SEWAB – GKSS Research Center, Germany • CBM – CSIRO, Australia Soon to be submitted • MOSAIC - NASA Goddard, USA • SSib – COLA, USA • VIC – U of Arizona, USA • BATS – UCLA, USA • Sib2 – USU, USA
