  2. Router bits should be inserted ¼” into the chuck. FALSE – ½”

  3. The router should be disconnected from the power source before changing the bit. TRUE

  4. The plastic window over the cutter area must be in place except when you are wearing safety glasses which will provide adequate protection against wood chips. FALSE – always have the window in place

  5. All work must be clamped and secure before using the router freehand. TRUE

  6. The bit should be touching the wood at the point you wish to begin cutting to be sure you do not over-cut the project. FALSE – start with the bit away from the wood

  7. Practice cuts should always be made before making the final cut. TRUE
