  2. Screens: Getting started with your screen Large LCD, LED and plasma screens are a great way to share photos, movies and presentations.  The right set-up and adjustments will help you make the most of your screen. Beginner

  3. Screens: Getting started with your screen LCD and plasma screens look alike but use different technology.  Plasma screens are brighter than LCD screens and can be much larger. Therefore they are a good idea if you want to share your work with lots of people. Beginner

  4. Screens: Getting started with your screen The screen size shows how large it is, and is measured from corner to corner. Beginner

  5. Screens: Getting started with your screen The screen resolution shows the number of pixels the screen can display. A pixel is a tiny dot of light that the screen can show, horizontally and vertically. Each image you see on a screen is made up of thousands of pixels gathered together – each one showing a slightly different colour and type of light that are the building blocks of the big image. Screens with more pixels can show images that are sharper and crisper. 1920 x 1080 Beginner

  8. Screens: Getting started with your screen When you connect a laptop to your screen, you can choose to see. The same screen on your laptop and the large screen (mirroring) Or A different screen on your laptop and the large screen Or Nothing on your laptop screen Your laptop may let you choose this using the function buttons at the top of the keypad. Beginner

  9. Screens: Getting started with your screen Your HDMI or DVI connector should send audio to your TV so you can hear music and movie soundtracks. This may not work on some older computers with DVI ports. Instead, connect audio separately using a mini-jack cable. Beginner

  10. Screens: Getting started with your screen If your screen does not have built-in speakers or you need louder sounds, connect your computer’s sound to an amplifier or powered speakers instead.  You may need to turn down the volume on your screen. Beginner
