Measures of Severity

This meeting, held in September 2004, focused on the evaluation of injury severity using the ICISS (International Classification of Diseases Injury Severity Score) and AIS (Abbreviated Injury Scale). Facilitated by experts including Margaret Warner and Colin Cryer, the discussions highlighted the selection of main injuries and the development of indicators. Despite comprehensive presentations on the advantages and disadvantages of these measures for administrative data, no consensus was reached, leaving the dialogue open for future exploration.
