Enhancing Home Care for the Elderly: Challenges and Innovations in Sweden

The DREAMING project workshop held in Odense on September 15, 2010, examined the costs and conditions of elderly care in Sweden. It highlighted the average annual cost for seniors living at home (219,639 SEK) versus those in nursing homes (515,059 SEK). Key challenges included achieving large-scale deployment of new technologies, addressing installation difficulties, and increasing engagement with relatives. Insights from the project emphasized active criteria inclusion, and the importance of balancing new routines with existing workloads. Recent dissemination activities showcased the project's innovations and findings.
