  2. States, Capitols, & Regions • By the Fifth grade, students should be able to name the state, capitols, and regions of the United States. • The TEKS covered for this subject are 6A, 7ABC, & 8C

  3. Student will be able to identify all five regions of the United States. Students will be able to identify a state and its corresponding capitol. Students will be able to map all 50 states and capitols. Learning Objectives

  4. Identify Regions • According to Blooms Taxonomy, the level reached for this objective would be comprehension. • When identifying the regions, the students will have to classify, identify, and locate the different regions of the United States.

  5. States and Capitols • According to Blooms Taxonomy, this objective would reach the application stage. • When identifying the states and capitols a student must: Use a map to Demonstrate the position of the state and capitol, practice the location of the states and capitols, and illustrate the shapes of the states in order to memorize their geography.

  6. Mapping States and Capitols • According to Blooms Taxonomy this would reach the application stage • Students will be able to: Draw the United States and general state outlines with capitols and be able to determine which state is which by the outline.

  8. Effectiveness • I will have students take a test at the end of the week. • During the week to see if student are learning appropriately I will have them partner up and test each other.
