For over 30 years, the Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC) has been a catalyst for community development in Washington, DC. Founded in 1982, LISC has invested over $64 million in loans, $12.5 million in grants, and supported 50 nonprofit borrowers, rejuvenating neighborhoods and enhancing the quality of life. Through initiatives like the Neighborhood Investment Fund and impactful projects, LISC has facilitated the preservation of over 2,200 homes, established medical centers, community centers, and food banks, making a lasting difference in the community.
