Devils in the Czech Republic

In the Czech Republic, the day of St. Nicholas is a festive occasion marked by family gatherings and costume traditions. During the day, families enjoy quality time together, while in the evening, teenagers and adults dress up as devils and angels. The devil, representing evil with a terrifying appearance, frightens children to encourage good behavior. St. Nicholas, a symbol of generosity, rewards well-behaved children with sweets and fruits, while the naughty may receive coal or potatoes. The evening culminates in a joyful exchange of gifts among family members.
