  1. Independent Research Task Impact of WW1 on Medway

  2. What does that mean? Impact means the effect, change or consequence something has. So therefore you need to be investigating what effect WW1 has/had on Medway. Here are some things to consider: • Soldiers from Medway (what happened to them, War Graves) • Naval Commitments (Dockyards, Royal Engineers) • Home Front (life in Medway during the war, rations) • Lasting Effect (what impact does it still have today?) • Can you find any First Hand Experiences of people from Medway?

  3. The Extra Mile? How about considering a 21st Century angle? Chatham is attempting to gain World Heritage Site Status. Medway’s historic role in history obviously plays a role in this – but how does WW1 affect this application?

  9. HOW WILL I BE ASSESSED? • You will be scored marks in all different areas of the project • The more creative, well researched, unique your project is, the more marks you will receive • The Winner(s) will receive a Prize!

  10. DUE: insert date This will be your History homework for the next few weeks. Therefore you will receive no other h/w from us, so you need to spend this time on your projects. However, your teacher will periodically ask for you work so far to be brought in, to check that you are completing it in the time given. Spare help sheets on H/W portal.
