  1. Troublers of Israel 1 Kings 18:17-18 1 Chronicles 2:7

  2. Troublers of Israel The Talebearer • Leviticus 19:16 • 16Thou shalt not go up and down as a talebearer among thy people. • Proverbs 11:13 • 13A talebearer revealeth secrets: but he that is of a faithful spirit concealeth the matter. • Proverbs 20:19 • 19He that goeth about as a talebearer revealeth secrets: therefore meddle not with him that flattereth with his lips.

  3. Troublers of Israel The Talebearer 13 And withal they learn to be idle, wandering about from house to house; and not only idle, but tattlers also and busybodies, speaking things which they ought not. • Proverbs 18:8 • 8The words of a talebearer are as wounds, and they go down into the innermost parts of the belly. • Proverbs 26:20 • 20Where no wood is, there the fire goeth out: so where there is no talebearer, the strife ceaseth. • Proverbs 26:21-22 • 21As coals are to burning coals, and wood to fire; so is a contentious man to kindle strife. 22The words of a talebearer are as wounds, and they go down into the innermost parts of the belly. (cf. 1 Tim. 5:13)

  4. Troublers of Israel The Whisperer • Proverbs 26:28 • 28A froward man soweth strife: and a whisperer separateth chief friends. • 2 Corinthians 12:2 • 2For I fear, lest, when I come, I shall not find you such as I would, and that I shall be found unto you such as ye would not: lest there be debates, envyings, wraths, strifes, backbitings, whisperings, swellings, tumults.

  5. Troublers of Israel He That Sows Discord • Proverbs 6:12-19 • 12A naughty person, a wicked man, walketh with a froward mouth. 13He winketh with his eyes, he speaketh with his feet, he teacheth with his fingers; 14Frowardness is in his heart, he deviseth mischief continually; he soweth discord. 15Therefore shall his calamity come suddenly; suddenly shall he be broken without remedy. 16These six things doth the Lord hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him: 17A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood, 18An heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief, 19A false witness that speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among brethren.

  6. Troublers of Israel The Evil Surmiser 12 And the man that will do presumptuously, and will not hearken unto the priest that standeth to minister there before the Lord thy God, or unto the judge, even that man shall die: and thou shalt put away the evil from Israel. 13 And all the people shall hear, and fear, and do no more presumptuously. • 1 Timothy 6:4 • 4He is proud, knowing nothing, but doting about questions and strifes of words, whereof cometh envy, strife, railings, evil surmising. • Psalm 19:13 • 13Keep back thy servant also from presumptuous sins. • Numbers 15:30-31 • 30But the soul that doeth ought presumptuously, whether he be born in the land, or a stranger, the same reproacheth the Lord; and that soul shall be cut off from among his people. 31Because he hath despised the word of the Lord, and hath broken his commandment, that soul shall utterly be cut off; his iniquity shall be upon him. (cf. Deut. 17:12-13)

  7. Troublers of Israel The False Teacher 1 Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world. • Matthew 7:15 • 15Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. • 2 Peter 2:1-2 • 1But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction. 2And many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of. (cf. 1 Jn. 4:1)

  8. Troublers of Israel The Person Who Plays God • 2 Thessalonians 2:4 • 4Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God. • Ephesians 4:6 • 6One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all. • 1 Corinthians 8:6 • 6But to us there is but one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we in him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we by him.

  9. Troublers of Israel The Person Who Preaches Another Gospel • Galatians 1:6-9 • 6I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel: 7Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ. 8But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. 9As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.
