Inserting Online Pictures New feature in Word 2013 that offers the ability to add online pictures Pictures can be searched from Office.com Clip Art, through a Bing Image Search, or from a Sky Drive Account. Clips refer to Microsoft Office’s royalty-free clip art collection. Bing Image Search results may include images that are not royalty free.

  5. Inserting Online Pictures To insert clip art from Office.com: • Click the Insert tab. • Click the Online Pictures button. • Key text in the Office.com Clip Art box. • Click the Search button.

  7. Resizing Pictures To resize a picture manually entering values • Select the picture. • Click the Pictures Tools Format tab. • Type desired value in the Width or Height box. • Press [Enter] Skill 4.2

  8. Resizing Pictures To resize a picture by dragging: • Select the picture. • Click a resize handle and drag toward the center of the image to make smaller or away from the center of the image to make larger. Skill 4.2

  9. Changing Picture Layouts To adjust the layout of a picture: • Click the image to select it. • Click the Layout Options button. • Select a layout. Skill 4.3

  10. Moving Pictures To move pictures in a document: • Select the picture. • Rest mouse over the picture. • When cursor changes to the move cursor, click and drag image to new location. • When alignment guide appears, release the mouse button. Skill 4.4

  11. Inserting a Picture To insert a picture from a file: • Click the Insert tab. • Click the Pictures button.

  12. Inserting a Picture • Navigate to the file location. • Select the file. • Click Insert To delete a picture: • Select the picture. • Press the Delete key on the keyboard.

  16. Inserting SmartArt There are eight categories of SmartArt:

  17. Inserting SmartArt To add SmartArt to a document: • Click the Insert tab. • Click the SmartArt button.

  18. Inserting SmartArt • Click a SmartArt option • Click OK. • Click the first item of the SmartArt Text pane and type your first item. • Enter text for each item. • Click outside the SmartArt graphic to hide the Text pane.

  19. Inserting a Shape To add a shape to a document: • Click the Insert tab. • Click the Shapes button, and select an option from the Shapes gallery. • Click document area to add shape.

  20. Adding WordArt to Documents To add WordArt to a document: • Click the Insert tab. • Click the Insert WordArt button. • Select a Quick Style from the gallery. • Replace the sample text. • Modify format if desired.

  23. Creating a Table Table organizes information for effective display. Rowsdisplay information horizontally. Columns display information vertically. Intersection of a row and a column is a cell.

  24. Creating a Table To create a simple table: Click the Insert tab. Click the Table button. Select number of rows and columns.

  25. Working with Tables To enter data in a table: Position cursor. Key data. Press [Tab] to move to next cell. Press [Enter] to force a new line within a cell. Pressing [Tab] in the last cell will create a new row.

  26. Inserting Rows and Columns To insert a column: • Roll mouse along top of table. • Click the Insert Control. To insert a row: Roll mouse along left side of table. Click the Insert Control.

  27. Deleting Columns, Rows, and Cells To delete a column, row, or cell: • Select desired column, row, or cells. • In Mini toolbar click the Delete button. • Select an option.

  28. Sizing Tables, Columns, and Rows By default, inserted tables are the full width of the page. Columns and rows are evenly spaced. Use AutoFit to resize cells to fit text in the table. Use Distribute Rows button to resize all rows. Use Distribute Columns button to resize all columns. Change row height and column width by clicking arrows in the Cell Size group. Use the Move handle tool to move a table.

  29. Sizing Tables, Columns, and Rows To auto fit the width and height of cells: • Click in the table. • Click the Table Tools Layout tab. • Click the AutoFit button, and select AutoFit Contents. To auto fit the width and height of cells: • Click in the desired row or column. • Click the Table Tools Layout tab. • Use the Width or Height box to make changes.

  30. Merging and Splitting Cells Merging cells combines multiple cells into one. Splitting a cell divides the cell into multiple cells.

  31. Merging and Splitting Cells To split a cell: • Select the cell. • Click the Split Cells button. • Key the number of columns and rows and click OK. To merge cells: Select the cells. Click the Table Tools Layout tab. Click the Merge Cells button.

  32. Sorting Data in Tables Sorting rearranges rows in the table. Sort in alphabetical or numeric order. Sort in ascending (A-Z) or descending (Z-A) order.

  33. Sorting Data in Tables To sort a column alphabetically: Click the Table Tools Layout tab. Click the Sort button.

  34. Sorting Data in Tables Click the Sort by arrow, and select a field to sort by. Verify sort order. Click OK.

  35. Applying Table Quick Styles To apply a Quick Style to a table: • Click the Table Tools Design tab. • Click the More button. • Select a Quick Style from the gallery.

  36. Applying Borders to a Table To change borders for a table: • Select the table. • Click the Table Tools Design tab. • Click the Borders button arrow. • Click a border option.

  37. Creating a Chart To add a chart to a document: • Click the Insert tab. • Click the Add a Chart button. • Click a chart type category. • Click a chart type. • Click OK.

  38. Creating a Chart The Chart in Microsoft Word dialog box opens. Replace the sample data. Click the Close button.

  39. Modifying a Chart To change the style of a chart: • Select the chart. • Click the Chart Styles button. • Click a style.
