This experiment aims to determine which fertilizer, A or B, promotes taller growth and faster sprouting of marigold seeds. The process involves placing seeds in separate planters with controlled soil and watering conditions. Each planter will receive either Fertilizer A or B, prepared according to package directions. Measurements will include plant height in centimeters and the days taken for sprouts to appear. Observations will occur daily, with results recorded in a table to compare the effectiveness of both fertilizers.

Design a Lab • I would like to know which fertilizer works best, Fertilizer A or Fertilizer B. Design an experiment to test the 2 fertilizers What am I testing? How will I measure it? How often will I measure it? What will I use to measure? What are my variables? What is a control?
Design a Lab Purpose: To find out if fertilizer A or B works better. Design an experiment to test the 2 fertilizers.
Design a Lab Hypothesis: If I conduct an experiment using fertilizer A and B, then I will determine which causes the plant to grow taller and sprout sooner.
Design a Lab Materials: Marigold seeds Fertilizer A Fertilizer B Water 3 gal jugs. 3 egg crates Soil Measuring spoon Ruler
Procedure • Place 3 tblsp of soil in each planter. • Place one seed in each planter, be sure to cover the seed with soil. • Control: place 1 tblsp of water in each planter • Fertilizer A: mix 1 gallon of fertilizer according to package directions. • Give 1 tblsp of water to all planters receiving fertilizer A. • Repeat steps 4 and 5 using fertilizer B. • Place in sunlight. • Observe planters each day for sprouts, and measure height in cm, record results in table.
Design a Lab Question? • Will changing the water temperature affect how quickly a gummi bear dissolves in water? • Will a dismembered gummi bear dissolve faster than a regular gummi bear? • Does the color of gummi bear affect how quickly it dissolves? • Will sugar coated gummi bears disslove quicker than not sugar coated gummi bears?
