The Chemical Weather Forecast System • MATCH-MPIC • Model of Atmospheric Transport and Chemistry • NMHC Chemistry (up to C5 HCs) • 56 Species, 140 Reactions • 21 CO Tracers • Online wet & dry dep, j-vals, emissions • Meteorology: NCEP GFS (T42-L42) • Full tropospheric hydrological cycle • Diagnosed Clouds, Convection • Near real time (NRT) run • 3-day Forecasts (completed ~ 6 UTC)

  7. Substantial enhancement in • UT CO (~20-30 ppbv • more than on 15.7) • Model attributes this to • Western Europe • Outflow not deep enough • Model underestimates • observations everywhere
