“Pros” 2A Status Quo More JV and C team competition Travel costs are less when Ferry is running “Comfortable” • Teams will be more competitive • Still schedule games with traditional 3A competitors (ie Valdez) to include JV
Cons 2A Status Quo Not competitive When teams have a JV and C, we have to occasionally provide funds to bring them here. • Don’t have relationship with districts • Travel will be more challenging • Very little JV competition
What are the Options? • Stay in 3A for both Volleyball and Basketball • Move to 2A for Volleyball and stay 3A for Basketball (or vice versa) • Move to 2A for Volleyball and Basketball
Commitment to Committee • First meeting is November 16, from 9-12 at the District Conference room. • Comparing estimated travel costs • Discussing viewpoint of other conferences toward our potential move • Necessity of additional meeting • Must have a recommendation to the Board for the December 11 Board Meeting.
