  45. 1 Samuel 4-7 • Man makes plans, has hopes and dreams, has expectations, and if not truly led of the Lord, those will all fail • God’s plans are flawless (Pr 19:21, Jer 29:11, Ps 139:13-18)

The Philistines Mistakes • They decide the ark will make a great trophy to add to their own idol worship of Dagon • God sends a small message of His displeasure • God sends a larger message of His displeasure • Ashdod get tumors, Gath gets tumors, Ekron gets tumors, and in the Vulgate, get rats too • The Philistines presented an offering of 5 golden tumors and a huge pile of golden rats
