  12. Common Nouns A common noun is a noun referring to any person, place, or thing in a general sense.

  18. Proper Nouns You always write a proper noun with a capital letter, since the noun represents the name of a specific person, place, or thing. George Washington The Golden Gate Bridge

  19. Examples of Proper Nouns 1 1. The White House = specific house, where the President lives

  20. Examples of Proper Nouns 2 2. Fluffy = a specific cat, my cat

  25. Collective Nouns A collective noun is a noun naming a group of things, animals, or persons. You could count the individual members of the group, but you usually think of the group as whole is generally as one unit.
