Email Quota • How can I get additional email quota? • Default quota is set at a soft limit of 300 MB • Additional disk space is available at a cost of $15 per 100MB upto a limit of 4000MB. • This is a one-time payment. • Request additional quota at: • https://messaging.its.monash.edu.au/mail/quota/
Spam Filter Management • How can I change my spam filter settings? • The default setting is 5 stars and filter to Spam-30 folder. • Star rating: 3, 5, 7, 10 stars • Folder: Spam-7, Spam-30, Spam-60, Trash • White lists • Addresses e.g. embryo.research@nhmrc.gov.au • Domains e.g. nhmrc.gov.au
Choosing Spam Filter Settings • If you want strict filtering (more messages filtered to your nominated spam folder), set to a number smaller than 5. • If you want lenient filtering (more messages delivered to your Inbox) then set to a number higher than 5. • Messages in Spam-30 are automatically deleted after they have been there 30 days. Spam-7 and Spam-60 work similarly, for 7 and 60 days respectively.
Monash Web Email • How can I check my email online? • http://mail.monash.edu.au • http://my.monash.edu.au • Requires an Internet connection and Web browser. • Can not access Local Folders and Address book. • Lotus Notes will provide seamless interface to email, calendar and address book.

Peer-to-Peer Applications • Use of peer-to-peer programs is not permitted on the network. • http://www.policy.monash.edu/policy-bank/management/its/it-use-policy-staff-and-authorised.html • Regular network scans are conducted to search p2p programs. • Computers found with p2p programs are blocked from network access.
