  3. How can I find a student’s eSIS number if I only know his/her first name? Slides 5-6 • If I know the student’s eSIS number, how do I get to his/her record?   5. To find a find a student’s eSIS number use this query.

  6. Enter the information you know and click the search button.

  7. To find the student’s record, enter the student’s eSIS number, press F8,

  8. To print a registration form, bring up the student’s record, press print.

  9. Check Student Verification Form and then press printer icon.

  10. A student who is receiving ESL, is being monitored or has refused service will have a Yellow Alert.

  11. When you click the Yellow Alert, it will identify the reason for the alert.

  12. To find basic information about the student, press Basic.

  14. Phone Number Use scroll bar for second emergency contact This page will give you the parent/guardian information. ESIS has an English default. If the parent/guardian speaks a language other than English, the language field MUST be changed and the box “Speaks English” must be unchecked.

  15. This page shows you the student’s country of birth—it defaults to USA

  16. This is where the information from the Home Language Survey is entered. When a language other than English is selected, eSIS populates the questions regarding interpretation and translation.

  17. LEP Entry date is stored on this page. This date does not change and is needed on many ESL forms (exit, promotion, etc.).

  18. This date indicates the date a student has been exited from ESL

  19. This is how you get to the page that shows you student test scores.

  20. Date Scroll bar The scroll bar on the right allows you to see all of the test scores. The scores are for the test that is highlighted in blue. If you select “Date” eSIS will sort test scores by date so you can see the most recent (you can sort by Test Name & Grade also).

  21. Here are ELPA scores. A composite 5 indicates a student may be Exited (4=Early Advanced, 3=Intermediate, 2=Early Intermediate, 1=Beginner).

  22. To see OAKS scores, highlight the test name

  23. To find out whether a student is meets benchmarks on OAKS, go to Sub Test Detail.

  24. This is how you get to the Program Page on eSIS.

  25. Scroll Bar This shows you the ESL Programs the student has received at PPS. If the student has been exited you will find that by using the scroll bar.

  28. To see a student’s transcript, enter the student’s eSIS number, F8 and select

  29. Select any other options you would like. Select And follow the normal procedures to print.

  30. To run a report that lists all of the students identified as ELL you will need to select

  33. Sort Order Sort Keys Select from the Available Sort Keys—in desired order using . If you want the list sorted by grade, add grade first. If you want the list alphabetically, add last name first. Select Print

  35. To run a list of students who have refused service, are monitored or exited, select Specify Extract Criteria
