    4. A Great basin example of a stand that has been lost. In this aspen stand, managers developed a spring which in turn attracted increased livestock pressures for the water, forage, and thermal cover. When parent trees fell out of the systems and regeneration continued to be eaten, the root system can not survive. There are no aspen on this site today. Had the water been moved off site and/or the stand protected, it probably would still be present today. A Great basin example of a stand that has been lost.
