Pair of bombs kill at least 50 in Iraq • Location: Karbala, Iraq • Who: al-Qaida • When: Jan. 18 during the Arbaeen in the afternoon. • Summary: A witness claims that they saw a car, that was speeding towards a checkpoint and refused to stop the car. The driver then sped up and then detonated the bombs resulting in an explosion. • Casualties: at least 50 killed, 175 wounded.
