The Floods!. By Gabriela Year 5. Introduction. The floods in Worcester have been caused by non-stop rain. This has affected many people’s life. Some people who live on the other side of the bridge have had to put up with this flooding. This is very hard for those people.

  2. Introduction • The floods in Worcester have been caused by non-stop rain. This has affected many people’s life. Some people who live on the other side of the bridge have had to put up with this flooding. This is very hard for those people.

  3. What is being done to help • Police are doing everything they can to help. They have shut down most of the traffic lights in the city and are controlling it by standing on the side of the road. The Army have now come to help. As far as anybody know this flood is worse than 2007.

  4. Shuttle Buses • Another way that the police are helping is that hey have sent out shuttle buses. These are the only type of transport that are allowed to go over the bridge. This bus helps people living on the other side of the bridge get to school or work.

  5. Places that get flooded The County Cricket Club is the place the gets flooded the most and it’s often the worse place that gets flooded. It also gets flooded the most because it’s so close to the River Severn. The house is still there after all these years of flooding.

  6. Vue Bar The Vue Bar has also been flooded. Owners that own the bar have closed it down and put down sandbags to stop the water coming in. McDonalds has also been flooded badly it is now closed as well as the Vue bar.

  7. Danger with the floods! • The floods are so bad that it’s flowing very fast. Trees are collapsing and police are closing the bridge so often that people are finding it difficult to travel. Worcester Floods

  8. How does this affect me? • The floods has affected me as it is harder to visit people in my family on the other side of the bridge. It has also affected me thinking about those on the other side of the bridge.

  9. Be Careful!!! • The flood’s have caused many places to become very dangerous. The council have warned cyclists not to cycle by the River Severn as it is flowing very fast and the current would pull you right down. Pedestrian’s have also been warned not too walk by The River Severn as well.
