All you need is a working email account and a password, no other personal information is required. You will be emailed an activation link. • Go to your email, click the link they sent you.   3. Special Events • Fright Night Dance Oct 26th @ the Strathmore Youth Club $3

  4. Halloween Food Drive When: October 31st, 2013 from 5:30pm-8:30pm What: We will be collecting food donations for the Strathmore Food bank, as well as monetary donations for MeToWe’s fundraiser. SLC needs people to help! If you require any more information please contact Mariah Wilson, Katherine Hatton, or Mrs. Galandy.

  5. Sports • Boys Volleyball home game Monday Oct 28th 5:30 & 7 pm. • SHS Home Tournament Hosting 12 teams. Next Weekend Nov 1-2. Go Spartans! • Boys V-Ball placed 2ndout of the 12 team tournament @ Crescent Heights High School.

  6. Crowd Pumpers! • Crowd Pumpers encourages EVERYONEto come cheer on the boys Volleyball team on Monday Oct 28th SHS Gym @ 5:30 pm & 7 pm . • Join the SHS Crowd Pumpers next weekend to cheer on the girls and boys volleyball teams Nov 1-2. Wear your Spartans Gear & Come Pump Up the Crowd!

  7. Clubs • If you are interested in one of the MetoWe shirts see Ms. McGill in Rm. 213. Only $22 each! 50% goes to charity. Shirts are made in Canada with organic cotton. 1 shirt purchased = 1 tree planted

  8. SLC Halloween Door Decorating Competition • Rules: • All the items that were given must be used (this includes the black mask, caution tape, Hawaiian leis, and spider web). But, you may buy additional items if you need to. • No homeroom can damage another homeroom’s decorations. If this happens, the homeroom will automatically be disqualified. • Nothing installed may mark or damage the SHS doors. No nails, tacks, or staples may be put into the door and all adhesives used must be fully removable. • Door handles MUST remain visible and operational. Door decorations may not impede the usage of the door or pose a safety hazard. • No glitter, confetti, or other small particulate items may be used. • Be creative and have fun! This is a Learning Strategies Competition, so each “homeroom” will compete against one another for the grand prize of a “Halloween” themed party that includes lots of Halloween candy and a movie, along with the bragging rights of being the most ‘creative’ homeroom. The judging will take place on October 30th, and the winning homeroom will be announced on October 31st.

  11. Halloween Costume Contest When and Where: During lunch on October 31st in the gym. Categories: Best Pair, Best group (3-10 people), Most Scary, Most Funny, Most Original/Creative Please DRESS UP & enter the competition! Winners will receive their photo in the Yearbook along with a Halloween Prize Package!

Student Services • Reminder: All Work Experience Timesheets due: Friday, November 1st.Please hand in to Student Services or Ms. Bouchard in Rm. 218 • All Out Of Province Post-Secondary Field Trip Forms must be handed in to Ms. McDonnell in student services by the end of today. • Sign up for the Exam Anxiety Workshop NOW! Limited space available.

  13. Test Anxiety Workshop • A workshop for Students: Oct 30th @ 7pm in the SHS Theatre. • 30 Seats available- only 21 left. Sign up TODAY! • It is natural to feel some anxiety when you are preparing for a test. But, when anxiety is too high, it can get in the way with your ability to learn and remember. Anxiety can make it difficult to show what you know during a test. In this program, you will learn why we experience anxiety and how to reduce test anxiety. Topics will include: • How to prepare for your test and test practice • Relaxation strategies • How to modify your thoughts and how to deal with perfectionism • How lifestyle choices can affect you
