GODAE Special Issue in Journal Tony Lee, NASA JPL, California Institute Of Technology IGST-XII meeting, St. John’s, Newfoundland, Aug. 7-9, 2007 • Objectives: • To document GODAE projects and efforts in the form of peer-reviewed publications so as to facilitate future citation in scientific literature and in program documents. • To further enhance the visibility and demonstrate the value of GODAE. • To promote the utility of GODAE products by the scientists and operational users. • To provide sufficient details and examples to potential GODAE product users as well as sponsors. • To provide a forum for GODAE developers to continue sharing ideas and experience. • To sustain the legacy of GODAE beyond its ending phase.
Targeted journal: • Journal of Marine System? • Targeted audience: • Sponsors and project managers. • System developers (exchange ideas). • Users (scientists, operational users, intermediate users).
Format: • Regular length scientific papers. • Short notes (like JPO’s Notes and Correspondences) for examples of particular applications of GODAE products. • OSSE studies (note or regular-length paper). • Project/system description with highlights of applications/utilities. • An opening/overview article by GODAE co-chairs (and/or IGST)? • Open solicitation with a few targeted invited contributions?
Proposed timelines: • September 2007: announcement soliciting contributions. • May 2008: deadline for submission. • November 2008: finished reviews/revision. • June 2009: publication Proposed Editorial Committee: GODAE co-chairs (Mike & Pierre-Yves) + IGTS members from different continents?
