  1. How to Pose for Pictures Getting your picture taken can feel awkward, especially if you’re in front of a crowd of strangers. But let me tackle that right now and remind you to tell yourself, it’s none of your business what other people think of you! If you are creating content to support a blog or for your Personal Brand Marketing that makes you excited then screw them lol. Plus you are probably assuming they are thinking way worse thoughts then they actually are! To be honest the feeling of “omg people are staring at me” doesn’t really go away. But it does get easier. Once you nail down some poses you know you can feel confident in, and get into a good routine of how you like to engage with the camera the self- conscious feeling will

  2. definitely faded! No matter how many time you’ve had your photo taken, there are going to be a lot of bloopers and a few good ones. I’m here to equip you with some tried and true posing tips so you never have to stand their awkwardly and shout, “what do I do with my hands?!” ever again. TIPS FOR POSING FOR PHOTOS 1.Stand up straight - Before you think about anything else, strand up straight, roll your shoulders back, keep it natural and try not to be too stiff. 2.Turn your head side to side - Look straight at the camera for a few shots, then turn your head to the left for a few, then to the right

  3. 3.Drop and raise your chin - while you’re doing these side-to-side turns also take a few seconds with your chin slightly raised, and a few with your chin slightly lowered. Don’t worry it’s not that hard to coordinate. 4.Hold something - Distract one hand by holding a cup, water bottle, sunglasses, phone or purse. If you have a purse then instead of having the bag over your shoulder you can hold it with one or two hands. Claire Guentz always does a great job of this! Speaking of Claire ^ , her and I created a game changing Instagram course for Influencers to teach you how to get yourself seen by more brands, pitch and negotiate like a pro, get paid your rates and grow a community that’s obsessed with your content. 5.If you have nothing to hold onto you can touch one arm with your opposite hand. So for example relax your left arm down and grab your left bicep with

  4. your right hand. Alternatively relax one arm down and swing the other one up holding it at your collarbone, chin, or straight up in the air! 6.Create some movement by stepping forward and back. When you’re standing create a little bit of space between your legs. If your legs are too close together and you are wearing black it will likely look like on big leg! Step one foot slightly in front of the other and rock your weight forward lifting your back heel off the ground, then rock your weight back with your front toe slightly pointed. 7.Open mouth smile, closed mouth smile - You probably already have a preference of how you like to be smiling in photos, but sometimes we get the odd shot that’s NOT our normal go-to smile and that’s always a win! During each shoot take some with your pearly whites showing, and some with a softer closed mouth smile. 8.Play with your hair - Put one of your hands up to your hair, mess it around, run your fingers through it. Yes, this can feel awkward but it adds to the candid look. 9.Engage with a fake second camera - For this you are pretending that you are posing for a camera that is off to the side of the person that’s actually shoot you. Aka looks like you are engaging with another human. 10.Dance around and hope for the best! Give your best candid-fake-laugh, slowly twirl around, get silly and enjoy the process! 11.Bonus tip, find more creative and out of the box poses for Instagram Marketing or Pinterest and practice them!

  5. KNOW THIS - The biggest thing hindering you is you not letting yourself relax and be confident in front of the camera. Remember, for all those strangers know you’re a huge Influencer with hundreds of thousands of followers or a famous model, or shooting a fricken national campaign. It does not matter what they think! Next time you’re doing a personal brand photoshoot (tips here for planning it) practice some of these tips and you’ll have more post-table photos than you know what to do with!
