You need 3 things to make the past tense. Subject Auxiliary verb (avoir or ê tre) Past participle. Être verbs. These work in the same way as ‘avoir’ verbs. They have agreements on the end of the past participle. BUT!. Eg. Il est allé. Elle est allé. e. Être agreements.
