In this lesson plan from South Philadelphia High School, students engage with the reading selection "Mask It!" by creating a K-W-L chart to enhance their comprehension. The objectives include summarizing the reading and developing a deeper understanding of character without relying on visuals. Students will work in pairs or small groups, preview sections of "Emotions" magazine, and participate in both guided and independent reading activities. The lesson concludes with daily reflections and an assessment of their learning progress.
